Unpublished notebooks of Srinivasa Ramanujan
Ramanujan recorded most of his results in four sets of loose leaf papers before he left for England in 1914. These sets came to be referred to as the Notebooks. The first three, Notebooks 1, 2 and 3 were published in two volumes, as a photocopy edition of the original manuscripts, in his own handwriting in 1957 by the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai. George Andrews found the lost notebook in the spring of 1976 while on a visit to Trinity College. It was published on December 22, 1987 by Narosa publishing house.
